Between 15–31 August 2026, Piknik Works co-founder Oğul Can Öztunç led Yahşibey Design Workshops No.57 together with architect Ömer Selçuk Baz, with the assistance of Gülşah Andiç and documentation by Yalın Baz. Over the course of two weeks, the workshop focused on observing and drawing the village, its surroundings and nearby archaeological sites, while exploring alternative ways of producing architectural knowledge through direct engagement with place, material and making.

The process culminated in a series of small-scale interventions designed and built collectively by the participants, combining hands-on construction, experimentation and close attention to the rural context of Yahşibey.

Today, the information age is reshaping creative production, making interdisciplinary work almost inevitable and generating new forms of knowledge. As boundaries between rational and intuitive thinking, artificial and natural intelligence, and analog and digital production blur, a new “intelligence of making” begins to emerge.

At the same time, architecture produces an excess of concepts—some meaningful, others hollow. This panel brings together pioneering practitioners to question these narratives, exploring what is truly changing in architecture, what remains constant, and how the tension between the contemporary and the timeless reshapes both knowledge and practice.
